The
Server itself:
- Operating System/WebServer:
Intel 2.66 GHz Pentium 4 Processor 512K Cache
Burstable, 100Mbps Cisco Switchport
- FreeBSD 4.8 Operating System
/ Apache WebServer
- Full
server backup daily with an automatic Backup on Board
system
- SSL secure serving capable
- Integrated
AutoPatch Security Updates and ANTI-SPAM and ANTI-VIRUS email
interceptors
at the server to filter
out most
of the junk mail and potential viruses that are
sent to your domain
based email by spammers --- you still
must have antivirus software on your home and business computers
to
protect yourself – but
this should make a noticeable difference
in the volume of SPAM you receive.
TINY
DETAILS of the Facility which make a BIG difference
BANDWIDTH
CONNECTIVITY Access
- Gigabit rings and multiple fiber connections up
to OC-192 capacity to various Internet backbones (MCI/UUNet,
Level 3, WilTel).
- Fiber connectivity
to two other adjacent colocation facilities (Focal Telecom,
Clear Blue) with access to AT &T,
Telseon, OnFiber and more.
- 2 Cisco 12000 series border routers, multiple Cisco
7206 internal access routers, and Cisco switches
- The facility
sits on Level 3's gigabit ring, and has an WilTel OC-3 that
also
peers at it’s partner ISP.net/FastMetrics.
It also has Worldcom’s OC-48 NAP fiber termination
equipment in the facility, through which they get bandwidth
from MCI/UUNet,
arguably the world's #1 Internet backbone. The facility
does not use Cogent or other low-quality discount bandwidth
providers,
giving us the fastest connectivity possible.
- Each server in the LAN is connected to an access layer by a meshed,
redundant switching fabric through either Fast Ethernet or
Gigabit Ethernet connections
- 100 Mbps feeds to the cabinet @ Full Duplex
- Access /
distribution / core networks provide redundant layers that
specialize in
traffic management & security
POWER
- 864,000 watts of redundant power with UPS and backup generator
systems for uninterrupted, stable power
- 2 (N+1) Backup generators with 2 - 10,000 gallon diesel fuel tanks
on-site with Generac automatic power transfer switch
- In the unlikely event of an outage, each individual rack is protected
by its own uninterrupted power supply (UPS) that maintains power
until the generators come online (they are good for 30 minutes
of power supply). These units also secondary regulators for power spikes
FIRE Detection/Supression
- Smoke/particle ION detectors AND infrared sensors below
the floor and in the ceiling
- Suppression includes dry action pipes and chemical hand extinguishers
COOLING
- Multiple redundant Liebert air conditioning units
for 300 tons of cooling
